Tap the Download button in the table above and pick the phone version. If the link takes you to MediaFire, tap only the green Download button: every other button on that page is an ad.
Open the downloaded file
Tap the download complete notification, or open the Files app (called My Files on Samsung) and go to the Downloads folder. Tap the .apk file.
Allow installs from that app
The first time, Android will tell you it cannot install apps from that source. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, go back and tap Install. Manual path: Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps, then pick Chrome or Files.
If the Play Protect warning shows up
Tap More details and then Install anyway. Google shows that warning for every app that does not come from the Play Store, ours included: it does not mean the file has a virus.
Open the game and log in
Open MU Space, pick the server and log in with your website username and password. If you do not have an account yet, create one for free from the Register button.
Install an Android emulator
The most stable ones are LDPlayer, BlueStacks and MuMu Player. Always download them from their official website.
Download the emulator build
Use the APK FOR EMULATORS (PC) file from the table above. It is the build made to run inside an emulator; the phone one may crash or not open at all.
Install the APK inside the emulator
Drag the .apk file onto the emulator window, or use the Install APK button on the side panel and browse to the file. It takes a few seconds.
Set the screen and resources
Set the emulator to 1920x1080, landscape orientation, and give it at least 4 GB of RAM and 4 cores. Restart the emulator after changing it.
Got an error while installing? Fix it here
Blocked by Play Protect / Unsafe app blocked
Why it happens: by default Play Protect warns about every app that was not downloaded from Google Play. It is an automatic warning, not a scan that found something in our file.
On the warning itself, tap More details and then Install anyway.
If that button is missing: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, go to Play Protect, tap the gear icon at the top right and turn off Scan apps with Play Protect. Install the APK and turn it back on when you are done.
If Play Protect deleted the file by itself, download it again from the official link on this page.
Install blocked / For your security, your phone cannot install apps from this source
Why it happens: since Android 8 the permission to install apps is granted per app (to the browser, to the file manager, and so on). The old global "unknown sources" switch no longer exists.
On the warning, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, go back and tap Install.
Manual path: Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps, pick the app you open the APK from and turn on Allow from this source.
Tip: opening the APK from the Files or My Files app is easier than from the browser, and you only grant the permission once.
Samsung Galaxy: nothing installs at all (Auto Blocker)
Why it happens: since One UI 6.1.1 Samsung turns on Auto Blocker by default, which blocks installing any app that does not come from the Play Store or the Galaxy Store. With it on, no "install anyway" button appears at all.
Go to Settings → Security and privacy → Auto Blocker.
Turn it off. The phone will ask for your PIN, pattern or fingerprint.
Install the MU Space APK.
When you are done you can turn Auto Blocker back on: the installed game keeps working.
Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO (MIUI / HyperOS): the install cancels by itself
Why it happens: MIUI and HyperOS add their own scan on top of Google's and sometimes cancel the install without explaining why.
Open the Security app, go to its settings and turn off Scan apps before installing. It is also under Settings → Passwords and security → Privacy.
On the install screen wait out the ~10 second countdown and only then tap Install anyway. Tapping earlier makes MIUI cancel.
On a brand new phone, MIUI may require you to be signed in with your Mi account and online to authorise the install.
Once installed, turn the scan back on.
App not installed
Why it happens: it is a generic Android error. These are the four most common causes, in order.
You already have an older version installed. Uninstall MU Space and install the new APK. You lose nothing: your account, characters and items live on the server, not on the phone.
Not enough storage. Free up at least 1 GB before installing.
The download was incomplete. Delete the .apk file, download it again over wifi and retry.
You tapped "Cancel" on the Play Protect warning earlier. Android remembers that and stops asking: see the Play Protect entry in this list.
There was a problem parsing the package
Why it happens: the file arrived truncated or corrupted, or the APK is not compatible with your phone's Android version.
Delete the downloaded .apk and get it again, ideally over wifi and without closing the browser mid-download.
Check that the file size matches the one listed in the downloads table above. If it is smaller, the download was cut off.
Do not use third-party download managers and do not pass the APK around over Bluetooth or WhatsApp: they often recompress or truncate it.
If your phone runs a very old Android version the game may not be compatible. Message us on Discord with your model and Android version and we will confirm.
Chrome says "dangerous file" and cancels the download
Why it happens: Chrome automatically flags any .apk downloaded outside the Play Store as suspicious.
Open Chrome downloads (three-dot menu → Downloads, or the download arrow).
Find the blocked file and tap Download anyway or Keep.
If it still refuses, try another browser: Firefox, Samsung Internet or Opera.
Restricted setting when granting a permission (Android 13 or newer)
Why it happens: Android 13 and later block certain sensitive permissions for apps installed from an APK until you allow them by hand.
Go to Settings → Apps → MU Space.
Tap the three-dot menu at the top right and choose Allow restricted settings.
Grant the permission that failed again.
That menu entry only shows up after Android has displayed the warning at least once.
Huawei or another phone without Google services
Good news: MU Space does not need the Play Store to run, so you can still play.
Download the APK and open it from the Files manager.
On Huawei: Settings → Security → More settings → Install apps from external sources and enable the app you open the APK from.
If Huawei's Optimizer blocks the install, pause its virus scan while you install.
Unverified developer: Google's new rule (from late 2026)
Why it happens: starting 30 September 2026 Google begins requiring apps installed from an APK to be registered by a verified developer. It starts only in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand and will expand to more countries.
If you are in one of those countries and Android blocks the install, use the advanced install flow the system itself offers in the warning.
If that still does not work, message us on Discord: we will help you and give you the alternative for your country.
